Makeup Talk | Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter

So you see this bottle EVERYWHERE but not sure what it is exactly. “Is it a foundation? A glow wand? but its so shimmery! I can’t wear that, Can I?“ is what you might think to yourself. Well lets talk about it. Let’s talk about what it is, what it does, how to use it and if it’s a good option for you.

Spoiler Alert: The hype is real.

So what is it?

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter.

The flawless filter is an illuminator for your face. Think of a glowy moisturizer or liquid highlighter that gives a beautiful glow from within.

The difference between CT flawless filter and other illuminatiors is that CT comes with a skin tone base rather than what we are use to seeing such as a gold, pink or silver base.

Flawless Filter comes in 12 different shades. Now remember this is a sheer glow so it only has to be in your skin tone range. Think of the same coverage as a tinted moisturizer but with a glow.

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter gives a smoothness, blurring and youthful appearance all while it hydrates your skin.

There are many ways to use this product so I’ll mention a few.

Technique 1

You can use flawless filter as base/foundation because it does have a tint. It wont give you a lot of coverage but it can even out your skin tone, blur your pores and give such a beautifully smoothness to the face. Think of the same coverage as a tinted moisturizer (with a glow). It works great for a no makeup makeup look.

Technique 2

You can use flawless filter under your foundation. You can apply it all over your face or just on the highest points of your face where the sun would typically hit you. These places are usually the cheekbones, bridge of the nose, chin and forehead. (Oh, and let‘s not forget the collarbones and shoulders for a sexy effect). This will translate as if your skin is naturally glowy. Now, you’re ready to apply your foundation as you normally would. Just think of this as an added step before foundation.

Technique 3

You can use flawless filter after you apply and blend your foundation. (This has been my new favorite way to apply it). You would apply it in the same high points areas as technique 2 the only thing here is you do have to be careful to not move your foundation since you’ve already applied it. Apply flawless filter directly on top of your foundation and then blend it in with a beauty sponge for the best results.

For reference I use shade 4 Medium

*also let me add that they have mini sizes if you want to try a mini before you commit to the full size.
