Skin | Let’s talk makeup removers!

Do you have a makeup remover step in your beauty routine?

or do you go straight to using your cleanser?

(No shame. I used to go in with just a cleanser before too)

It is really important to remove all your makeup before cleansing and exfoliating so that you can avoid clogged pores, breakouts and irritation.

If you’re not wearing makeup at least one of these would still work for you.

These are my three favorite makeup removers in the order I like to use them in:

MAC Gently Off Wipes + Micellar Water

Wipes are the easiest to use when you have a full face of makeup. MAC has 2 different types of wipes. Micellar Water and Regular. I love them both. The micellar water wipes are best for sensitive skin and the regular has an amazing smell and works wonders. Wipes should NOT be the only thing you use to remove your makeup!

Clinique take the day off cleansing balm

Cleansing balms are great to use to break down and melt off all your stubborn makeup including mascara (yes girl! It works on waterproof too). I usually i go back in quickly with the wipe to take the oil off.

I then proceed to use a cleanser to wash my face. (favorite cleansers coming soon)

3 Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water

After washing my face with the wipes, balm and cleanser I go in with micellar water and a cotton pad all over my face and neck. Sometimes there’s some makeup left behind and this last makeup remover ensures to remove it all.

Now, let’s just say you didn’t wear makeup this day - you can skip the wipes and balm and go straight to the micellar water with a cotton pad. This product works great on its own to remove dirt and oils from face. (It‘s my absolute favorite). This product feels like oil but it is oil-free.
